Everything you need to know before ordering
Costs & Pricing
How much will it cost to print my model?+
Pricing depends on the weight of filament used and the material you choose. We charge per gram, so you only pay for exactly what is printed — no hidden hourly minimums or setup fees. Most standard FDM prints fall between 5 JOD and 20 JOD. A small decorative piece or phone stand is typically 3 to 8 JOD, while a large engineering prototype or multi-part assembly can reach 25 JOD or more. PLA is the most affordable material at approximately 0.07 JOD per gram. PETG and ABS cost slightly more due to material and printing conditions. Resin is priced at a premium because of slower processing and higher consumable cost. Layer height, infill density, and the need for support structures also affect the final price. Use our free online price calculator — upload your STL file to get an instant estimate in Jordanian Dinars before placing your order.
Do you charge per gram or per hour?+
We charge per gram of filament used, not per hour. This approach is more transparent and fairer for customers because you pay for the actual material your part consumes, regardless of how long the machine runs. Hourly pricing tends to disadvantage customers whose prints happen to run slowly — for example, fine-layer prints that use the same amount of material but take more machine time. With per-gram pricing, you can estimate costs easily and know exactly what will appear on your invoice. Our rate starts at 0.07 JOD per gram for PLA. The filament weight is calculated from your STL file during slicing — the slicer software gives us an accurate gram estimate before printing begins. If your project requires multiple materials or post-processing steps such as sanding, priming, or painting, those are quoted separately so there are no surprises when you receive your completed order.
What's the cheapest material?+
PLA, or Polylactic Acid, is our most budget-friendly material and the best starting point for most projects. It is made from plant-based starches, which makes it easier to print, less prone to warping, and available in a wide range of colors including matte, silk, and metallic finishes. PLA is ideal for decorative items, display models, early-stage prototypes, and any project where cost is the top priority. Its one notable limitation is heat sensitivity — it can begin to soften at around 60 degrees Celsius, so it is not suitable for parts left in a hot car, near a heat source, or used in outdoor summer conditions in Jordan. For functional mechanical parts or outdoor applications, PETG is the next step up and costs only slightly more per gram. If you are unsure which material best fits your project, send us a WhatsApp message with a brief description of the use case and we will recommend the right option at no charge.
What is the cost of 3D printing in Jordan?+
The cost of 3D printing in Jordan varies by material, model size, and complexity. At Jordan3DPrint, PLA printing starts from approximately 0.07 JOD per gram — one of the most competitive rates available in Amman. A standard print weighing around 50 grams costs roughly 3.5 JOD in material alone, with total pricing typically ranging from 5 JOD to 20 JOD for most consumer and engineering requests. Larger or more complex parts may cost more. Resin printing carries a higher price due to material cost and post-processing requirements such as UV curing and washing. Our 3D design service is priced at 20 JOD per hour for custom CAD modeling. Rush orders are available at a 50% surcharge if you need priority queue placement. Delivery within Amman adds 2 to 3 JOD. Use our free price calculator to get an instant estimate for your specific model before committing to an order.
Time & Deadlines
How long does printing take?+
Typical turnaround is one to three business days from the time you confirm your order and send the final file. The actual machine time depends on the size, layer height, and infill density of your model — a small part printed at 0.2 mm layers can finish in under an hour, while a large object with fine detail might take 12 hours or more on the printer alone. We run multiple machines simultaneously to reduce wait times, but queue demand varies day to day. If you need your print faster, our Rush service moves your job to the front of the queue for an additional fee of approximately 50 percent of the base print price. For large or complex multi-part orders, we recommend sending your STL file at least a week in advance to avoid scheduling conflicts. Same-day pickup is sometimes possible for very small simple parts if the file is confirmed before 9 AM and machines are available.
Can I get it done today or tomorrow?+
Same-day or next-day turnaround is possible for small, simple parts, but it depends on current machine availability and queue load. The best way to maximize your chances of next-day pickup is to send your STL file as early in the morning as possible — ideally before 9 AM — so we can slice it, confirm the price, and queue it immediately. For same-day pickup, the file should arrive no later than 10 AM and the part must be small enough to finish printing within a few hours. Larger or more complex prints almost always require overnight or multi-day scheduling. If your deadline is critical, consider our Rush service, which moves your job to the front of the queue for a 50% surcharge and guarantees priority handling. We will always give you an honest, realistic timeline rather than overpromising, so you can plan your project without last-minute surprises.
Do you offer rush orders?+
Yes, we offer a Rush service that prioritizes your print job and moves it to the front of our production queue ahead of standard orders. The rush fee is typically 50 percent on top of the standard print price. This service is ideal for last-minute prototypes, urgent replacement parts, trade show deadlines, or any situation where delivery speed matters more than cost savings. To place a rush order, contact us on WhatsApp with your STL file and your required deadline, and we will confirm availability based on current machine load. Even with rush service, very large or highly detailed prints still require a minimum machine runtime that cannot be shortened — we will always give you an honest time estimate upfront. For most standard-sized parts, rush turnaround is same-day or next-day pickup if the file is confirmed before 10 AM. We believe in transparent timelines so you can plan your project confidently.
Files & Design
What file format do I need?+
STL is the industry-standard format for 3D printing and the format we prefer receiving from customers. It is supported by almost every 3D design program including Fusion 360, Blender, Tinkercad, SolidWorks, and FreeCAD. We also accept OBJ files, which sometimes handle color and texture data better for multi-material prints, and 3MF files, which can embed print settings alongside the geometry data. If you only have a native design file from SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or another CAD tool, export it to STL before sending. Make sure the model is exported in millimeters rather than inches, and that the mesh has no major errors like open edges or inverted normals. We can repair minor mesh issues at no extra charge, but heavily broken files may need to be re-exported from the source application. When in doubt, just send the file and we will check it for you and let you know if any corrections are needed before printing begins.
Can you design it for me if I don't have a file?+
Yes, professional CAD design services are available when you do not have a ready-to-print STL file. You can provide us with a reference sketch showing key dimensions, a photo of an existing part you want replicated, or a written description of the shape and function you need — and our team will model it from scratch. Our design rate is 20 JOD per hour. Simple parts like brackets, enclosures, phone holders, or organizers typically take one to two hours to model. More complex organic shapes, assemblies with multiple interlocking components, or parts requiring precise mechanical tolerances may take three to five hours. Once the design is complete, we send you a 3D preview for approval before printing begins. If minor revisions are needed within the same design session, they are often included at no extra charge. This service is popular with engineers, small businesses replacing discontinued parts, and hobbyists who have an idea but no CAD experience.
Can you fix or edit my model?+
Basic repairs are often included in the standard service at no extra charge. Common fixes include closing open holes in the mesh, fixing inverted normals, repairing non-manifold geometry, and scaling the model to the correct size if dimensions were exported incorrectly. These types of repairs are quick for our team and do not require significant design time. However, if you need substantial changes — adding new features, modifying the shape, resizing specific sections while keeping others fixed, or adapting the model for a different material — these changes are billed as design time at 20 JOD per hour. We always confirm the scope and cost of any design work before proceeding so there are no unexpected charges. If you are unsure whether your model needs repairs, send it to us on WhatsApp and we will assess it for free and let you know what needs to be adjusted before printing.

Materials & Quality
What materials do you offer?+
Our most commonly used FDM materials are PLA, PETG, ABS, and Resin. PLA is the most affordable and easiest to print, making it ideal for prototypes, decorative items, and low-stress functional parts. PETG combines ease of printing with better heat and impact resistance, making it the preferred choice for mechanical parts, brackets, and outdoor-facing components. ABS is tougher and more heat-resistant than PETG but requires controlled printing conditions to prevent warping. For high-detail applications such as figurines, jewelry, dental models, and miniatures, we offer Resin printing using MSLA and SLA technology, which produces smooth surfaces and intricate features that FDM cannot replicate. We also carry specialty filaments including flexible TPU for grips, gaskets, and wearables, and Carbon Fiber-filled materials for lightweight rigid structural components. If your application has specific requirements around food safety, UV exposure, chemical resistance, or temperature ranges, contact us and we will recommend the right material.
Which material is strongest?+
For most mechanical applications, PETG offers the best balance of strength, flexibility, and ease of printing. It handles impact well and is resistant to moderate heat, making it the go-to choice for brackets, enclosures, functional clips, and load-bearing parts. ABS is also strong and offers better heat resistance than PETG — useful for parts exposed to temperatures above 80 degrees Celsius — but it requires an enclosed printer and can be prone to warping on large flat prints. For extreme strength requirements, Carbon Fiber-filled nylon or PAHT materials offer excellent stiffness and temperature resistance for demanding engineering applications. Resin parts look great but are typically more brittle than FDM parts and less suitable for impact-prone mechanical use. The right choice depends on your specific load, temperature, and dimensional accuracy requirements — send us your use case on WhatsApp and we will recommend the best material.
How smooth or detailed will it look?+
FDM printing, which uses plastic filament, produces parts with visible layer lines that run horizontally across the surface. At a standard 0.2 mm layer height, these lines are subtle but present. Printing at 0.1 mm layers makes surfaces smoother but significantly increases print time. Post-processing options like sanding, priming, and painting can achieve a near-injection-molded finish for FDM parts. If you need exceptional surface quality and fine detail — such as for figurines, jewelry, or display models with sharp lettering or very small features — Resin printing is the better choice. Resin prints have very smooth surfaces straight off the machine and can capture details as small as 0.05 mm. The tradeoff is higher material cost and a more involved post-processing step that includes washing in isopropyl alcohol and UV curing. Let us know your surface quality requirements when ordering and we will recommend the right process and layer height for your specific project.
Size & Limits
What is the maximum size you can print?+
Our standard FDM printers have a build volume of approximately 25 by 25 by 25 centimeters, which covers the vast majority of consumer and engineering requests. For parts larger than this, we offer two approaches. First, we can slice the model into multiple sections, print each piece separately, and bond them together using structural adhesive or mechanical fasteners — a common approach for cosplay props, architectural models, furniture components, and large enclosures. Second, for cases where seamless structural integrity is critical, we can access larger-format industrial machines capable of printing up to 50 centimeters in a single piece. Please contact us in advance for large-format jobs so we can confirm machine availability and provide an accurate quote. Resin printing has a smaller build volume than FDM, so very large Resin parts are always split and bonded regardless of size. Provide dimensions in millimeters in your STL file and we will confirm orientation and fit before starting production.
Can you print large objects in one piece?+
If the object fits within our machine's build volume of approximately 25 by 25 by 25 centimeters, we can print it as a single piece with no seams or bonding required. For objects larger than this, we split the model into sections that each fit within the build volume, print them separately, and join them using structural adhesive or mechanical fasteners. When done properly, the bond at the seam is nearly as strong as the surrounding material, and with some post-processing such as filling and sanding, the joint becomes nearly invisible. For structural parts where seam strength is critical — such as load-bearing brackets or mechanical assemblies — we orient and split the model carefully to ensure the seam falls in a low-stress area. Please mention if a single-piece print is important for your application and we will advise on whether it is achievable or whether splitting is the better engineering approach for your specific case.
Delivery & Location
Do you deliver in Amman or other cities?+
Yes, we offer delivery across Jordan. Within Amman, orders are typically delivered the same day or the next business day after the print is completed, depending on the courier schedule and your location within the city. We also ship to major cities including Irbid, Zarqa, Salt, and Aqaba through reliable courier partners. Delivery outside Amman usually takes one additional business day. Fragile or oversized prints are carefully packaged to prevent damage in transit, and we photograph each item before shipping to document its condition at dispatch. If you prefer, you are welcome to pick up your order directly from our workshop in Amman at no delivery charge — just let us know your estimated arrival time so we can have the order ready. For time-sensitive deliveries, we recommend placing your order at least one full day before your required date to account for courier scheduling and print completion time.
How much is delivery?+
Delivery within Amman is typically 2 to 3 JOD, depending on your exact location within the city and the courier service used. This flat rate covers most neighborhoods in Amman and includes basic protective packaging to safeguard your print during transit. For deliveries to other cities in Jordan — such as Irbid, Zarqa, Salt, or Aqaba — the fee is slightly higher due to the longer courier distance, typically in the range of 4 to 6 JOD. Exact shipping costs are confirmed at the time of ordering based on your delivery address and the dimensions or weight of the package. For very large or bulky prints that require special protective packaging or foam padding, there may be a small surcharge. Alternatively, pickup from our workshop in Amman is always free of charge. We will always confirm the total cost — print price plus delivery — before production begins so you can approve the full amount with no surprises.
Is 3D printing available in Amman?+
Yes, Amman is the primary hub for professional 3D printing services in Jordan. Jordan3DPrint is based in Amman and offers a full range of FDM and Resin printing services for consumers, engineers, and businesses. We operate multiple printers simultaneously to handle concurrent orders and maintain fast turnaround times. Our location in Amman allows us to offer same-day or next-day delivery to most neighborhoods in the city, as well as in-person pickup by appointment. Use Case & Safety
Is it strong enough for real-world use?+
Yes, 3D-printed parts can be fully functional and structurally robust when the right material and print settings are chosen. PETG and ABS are the preferred materials for mechanical applications because they offer good impact resistance and can handle moderate heat. For even higher strength requirements, Carbon Fiber-filled nylon or PAHT materials are available for demanding engineering environments. Wall thickness is the most critical design factor — parts intended for real-world mechanical stress should have walls of at least 3 to 4 millimeters and an infill density of 40 percent or higher. We have successfully printed functional brackets, replacement car parts, industrial jigs and fixtures, drone components, and electronic enclosures that perform reliably under regular use. If you are unsure whether 3D printing is strong enough for your specific application, describe the use case to us on WhatsApp and we will advise on the best material, print orientation, and wall thickness to meet your load and durability requirements.
Can it handle heat or water?+
Heat resistance varies significantly by material. PLA begins to soften at around 60 degrees Celsius, so it is not suitable for parts left in a hot car, on a window sill in summer, or near a heat source. PETG handles heat up to approximately 80 degrees and is a better choice for items that experience moderate thermal exposure. ABS is more heat-resistant, handling temperatures up to 100 degrees or higher, making it the right choice for automotive or appliance applications. For the highest heat resistance in FDM, PAHT nylon can withstand temperatures above 150 degrees. Regarding water resistance, most FDM plastics are inherently water-resistant in the sense that the plastic itself does not absorb water. However, 3D-printed parts have microscopic gaps between layer lines that can allow slow seepage if submerged for extended periods. Applying a sealant or epoxy coating to the outside of the part solves this issue for most water-exposure applications. Let us know your environment and we will recommend the right material.
Is it safe for food or kids?+
PLA is made from plant-based materials and is non-toxic, making it one of the safer plastics for children's toys and household items. However, all FDM 3D prints have microscopic gaps between the printed layers where bacteria and moisture can accumulate over time, which makes raw prints unsuitable for direct contact with food or drink without additional treatment. If you need a 3D-printed item for food use — such as a cookie cutter, utensil holder, or container — the safest approach is to coat all surfaces with a food-safe epoxy resin that seals the layer gaps completely. For children's toys, we recommend PLA printed at high infill density to avoid hollow areas, and we can sand and round off any sharp edges as part of post-processing. Always allow freshly printed items to off-gas for 24 hours in a well-ventilated space before giving them to children. If food safety is a primary concern, please discuss your requirements with us before ordering.
Do you have a specific file ready, or are you still in the design phase?+
Let us know where you are in the process and we will tailor our service to your stage.
